Entertainment personality and Politician Kwame Obeng Asare, popularly known as A-Plus in a recent social media post refuted rumors that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had convinced him to withdraw his independent candidacy for the Gomoa Central Constituency.
He emphasized that no political figure, no matter how influential, could sway his decision to contest in the upcoming December 2024 elections.
A-Plus expressed confidence in his ability to address the constituency’s challenges, stating that he anticipates a strong victory over the incumbent NPP candidate.
He urged his supporters to ignore speculations about him stepping down from the race.
Dismissing the alleged influence attempts, A Plus asserted, “Even though he is the vice president and the NPP’s flagbearer, he cannot dictate my actions. I’ve made it clear that any underhanded tactics in Gomoa Central will backfire.”
A Plus has kicked off his campaign vigorously, aiming to unseat Naana Eyiah Quansah, the current NPP MP who has held the seat for two consecutive terms.
