A 27-year-old man, Kwaku Agyei, has been apprehended for reportedly fatally stabbing his friend’s father at New Sekyire, near Kronom-Cement in the Ashanti Region.
The victim, a 47-year-old man identified as Efo, was allegedly stabbed with a knife by the suspect, leading to his death.
According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred on Sunday, December 24, 2023, following a previous altercation that had been separated.
The suspect allegedly attacked the deceased after an initial fight was diffused, resulting in the tragic event.
Hon Joyce Osei Assibey, Assembly Member for New Sekyire Electoral Area, provided details about the incident, stating that the suspect had confronted his friend at the deceased’s house.
Despite efforts to mediate and end the dispute, the suspect reportedly stabbed the victim with a concealed knife during his departure.
The family discovered the attack only when one of the victim’s daughters observed him in a pool of blood outside the house.
The injured man was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead.
The police have arrested the suspect, Kwaku Agyei, who is currently cooperating with ongoing investigations.
