Asante Kotoko Coach blames defeat to Dreams FC on loss of confidence

Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club’s assistant coach, David Ocloo, attributed the team’s poor performance to a decline in confidence among the players.

Ocloo made these remarks during a post-game interview following Kotoko’s 2-0 defeat to Dreams FC at Dawu, marking their fifth loss in six games.

The Porcupine Warriors have been struggling since the commencement of the second round of the 2023–2024 Ghana Premier League season in late February.

Despite finishing the first round in the top three, the club currently sits in 11th place in the league standings.

According to Ocloo, the team’s lack of confidence is the primary factor contributing to this downturn in form.

“When you are losing, confidence goes down and you could see it in the first half; they were panicking and they couldn’t play how you and I know them to play. If we play the way we played the second half, I think we can turn things around.”

Kotoko will face FC Samartex on April 21 at 18:00 GMT at the Nsenkyire Stadium.
