NorthEast United defender Rakesh Pradhan has stated that Asamoah Gyan has been their source of inspiration since joining the club ahead of the new season Indian Super League.
According to Rakesh Pradhan, the Black Stars striker who is an icon inspires his teammates with his achievement in the lead up to matches.
“[Asamoah] Gyan is a big figure, a big personality. You can’t say anything [negative] about him,” Pradhan told the ISL website.

“He has been encouraging us in the dressing room. He has a big influence.
“He talks about the big matches he has played in the [FIFA] World Cup and with many big clubs.
“So, in that way, we take his experience and go to the pitch.”
Gyan 33, completed a move to Indian side, North East United on a free transfer after seeing out his contract at Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor at the just-ended season.

He has scored 2 goals in 4 outings. He, unfortunately, suffered an injury in yesterday’s game against Hyderabad in which his outfit won by a lone goal.
The win saw NorthEast United moved to the top of Indian Super League table with 8 points in 4 matches.
Gyan is Ghana’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals in 107 appearances. He is the Black Star with most goals at the Africa Cup of Nations and Fifa World Cup.
