Arsenal revived their Premier League title aspirations with a commanding victory over struggling Crystal Palace at Emirates Stadium.
Having faced a dip in form with three losses in their last five Premier League matches towards the end of the previous year, Arsenal, under the management of Mikel Arteta, utilized a week-long winter break in Dubai to regroup.
The Gunners demonstrated their resurgence with a convincing 5-0 win, featuring a header from Gabriel, an own goal by Crystal Palace’s Dean Henderson, a composed finish by Leandro Trossard, and two late strikes by Gabriel Martinelli.
Gabriel’s opening goal in the 11th minute and Henderson’s own goal both resulted from corners. Trossard added to Arsenal’s lead in the second half, calmly finishing a one-on-one opportunity.
Crystal Palace struggled to mount a response, and in injury time, Martinelli sealed the emphatic win with two well-placed shots into the far corner.
This victory propelled Arsenal to third place in the Premier League standings, trailing leaders Liverpool by two points but having played one more game than Jurgen Klopp’s side. Crystal Palace, on the other hand, remained in 14th place.
