Manager of Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti maybe in big trouble after being accused of tax evasion fraud in 2014 by the Spanish government.
Together with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, the Italian manager is the most well-known player in Spanish football to have recently come under the tax authorities’ attention.
The Real Madrid manager was allegedly charged in 2014 with cheating the Spanish Treasury of €386,361 according to Football Espana.
His image rights at the time are what are covered by the monies.
The charge against Ancelotti will now be moved to the trial stage as the judge believes the Italian manager deliberately hid the money from the country’s tax authorities.
The incident is said to have happened during Ancelotti’s first spell in charge of Real Madrid between June 2013 and May 2015, in a tenure that lasted 693 days.
Madrid hunt for Ancelotti’s replacement
Meanwhile, Real Madrid has begun their search for Ancelotti’s replacement after the Italian confirmed he would be taking charge of the Brazilian national team after the 2023/24 season.
According to the Daily Post, Los Blancos will consider four of their former players to replace the 67-year-old manager, who has entered the final year of his contract with the Spanish giants.
The publication stated Real Madrid will consider Zinedine Zidane, Xabi Alonso, Raul Gonzalez, and Alvaro Arbeloa to succeed Ancelotti when the veteran coach leaves next summer.
Ancelotti drags Everton to court
Meanwhile, Sports Brief reported on Real Madrid manager, Ancelotti suing former club Everton in London’s high court over commercial disputes, two years after he left the English club.
The veteran Italian manager has reportedly filed a legal claim against the English Premier League outfit in a case said to be related to ‘general commercial contracts and arrangements’.
Everton are undergoing a spell of severe financial and administrative struggles, with three of their directors leaving the club and chairman, Bill Kenwright, also ‘on the verge’ of departing.
