Husband of the acclaimed Afua Asantewaa, Kofi Aduonum is urging authorities to consider naming a prominent section of Akwaaba Village after his wife, recognizing her outstanding contributions to global culture.
Aduonum proposed names like “Asantewaa’s Stage” or “Asantewaa’s Corner” as a lasting tribute to her historic Sing-A-Thon event, which not only showcased Ghana’s rich cultural heritage but also garnered international attention.
He envisioned the named area becoming a tourist attraction, allowing visitors to connect with the iconic performance that resonated worldwide.
Aduonum emphasized that such recognition would serve as a meaningful gesture and a testament to Asantewaa’s impactful role in putting Akwaaba Village on the global map.
