An X user has raised concerns about the apparent collective amnesia surrounding various scandals linked to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the administration of Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to the X user identified Ghana Mu Nsemsem, Ghanaians have not expressed enough outrage over these issues.
Among the scandals highlighted by Ghana Mu Nsemsem are the controversial Agyapa Deal, the SSNIT $72 million procurement and software installation, and the Cecilia Dapaah scandal involving large sums of money found in her home.
Despite these controversies, there has been a lack of accountability, with no individuals facing jail time for their alleged involvement.
The persistent silence on these matters, as noted by Ghana Mu Nsemsem, has only emboldened corruption within the NPP government.
“Agyapa Deal scandal, SSNIT $72million on the procurement & installation of a software for their operations. Upon all these scandals, nobody has been jailed. Cecilia Dapaah scandal has also been forgotten. Our silence on these scandals have emboldened this NPP/Bawumia gov’t,” X user stated.
The recent case of cash found in Cecilia Dapaah’s home had initially sparked public outcry and calls for her resignation, yet the broader issue of corruption within the government persists largely unaddressed.
As questions continue to arise about the origins of such significant amounts of money and the lack of consequences for those implicated in corruption scandals, the public debate around accountability and governance in Ghana remains fervent.
