Ghana’s performance at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast has been disappointing.
The Black Stars were eliminated at the group stage of the 2023 edition, securing only two points out of a possible nine in a group that included Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
Under Chris Hughton’s management, the team conceded six goals, with two goals conceded in each game, while managing to score five.
They finished third in the group, with Cape Verde taking the top spot, followed by Egypt.
In their crucial final game, where a win was necessary to advance, the Black Stars squandered a two-goal lead against Mozambique. The specific match results were as follows:
