Two unidentified men believed to be in their late 30s, were lynched and set ablaze by residents after being accused of stealing a motorbike in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The bodies of the men were discovered lifeless in front of the Gomoa Dasum Community Center.
Isaac Egyir Junior, the Unit Committee Chairman for Gomoa Dasum, reported to Adom News that preliminary investigations revealed the suspects were assaulted by unknown residents using stones and sticks before being set on fire. The mob justice has sparked outrage and concern within the community.
Nana Kojo Atta, the Kyidomhene of Gomoa Dasum, has condemned the act of vigilantism and urged the youth to refrain from engaging in criminal activities.
He has also called on the police to launch a thorough investigation into the incident to prevent further instances of individuals taking the law into their own hands.
