Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has reportedly submitted his squad list to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The official announcement is expected soon, with the matches scheduled for early September. Key players may be absent due to various reasons, including lack of club activity or limited playing time this season.
Ghana will face Angola in Kumasi on September 5, 2024, followed by a match against Niger on September 9.
Here are players set who could miss Ghana’s squad
Andre Ayew
Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew is a free agent and could land a deal in the window’s final days.
He has been a free agent since leaving Le Havre in the French Ligue 1 at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Salis Samed
The midfielder at RC Lens has been relegated to the reserve squad amid ongoing uncertainty about his future.
He is currently in discussions with French clubs Nantes and Montpellier, both of which are eager to finalise a deal before the transfer window closes. Due to these unresolved negotiations, he has missed the first three matches of the season.
Daniel Amartey
The Ghanaian centre-back has found minutes hard to come by during his time at Besiktas, costing him a place in the Black Stars.
He departed the club after a season and has been a free agent since. According to the report, Celtic have expressed interest in signing the defender but he has not been offered a concrete deal yet.
Tariq Lmaptey
Brighton and Hove Albion defender Tariq Lamptey has just returned from a knock that sidelined him for the club’s opening game.
Although he was on the bench during Brighton’s victory over Manchester United in their second match, he didn’t see any action.
Due to concerns about his fitness, there’s a possibility that he might not be included in Otto Addo’s upcoming squad for Ghana.
