Government launches Ashaley Botwe School Junction to Tema Motorway project

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo officially launched the Ashaley Botwe School Junction to Tema Motorway Road project, a key development aimed at boosting road infrastructure and economic growth in the Greater Accra Region on On August 26, 2024.

The newly inaugurated six-kilometre dual carriageway features comprehensive upgrades, including service lanes on either side, a 1.60-kilometre Stadium Access Road, slip roads connecting to the Tema Motorway, dedicated walkways, cycling lanes, and lay-bys.

These enhancements are designed to improve safety and convenience for all users of the road.

Completed by Oswal Investments Limited, this project is expected to significantly reduce travel times, lower transportation costs, alleviate flooding, and enhance overall road safety in the communities of Ashaley Botwe, School Junction, and Borteyman, extending to the motorway.

At the inauguration of the Ashaley Botwe School Junction to Tema Motorway Road project, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo highlighted the project’s significance in fulfilling government commitments and bringing tangible benefits to all citizens.

The President emphasised that the road was more than just a transportation link; it represents a crucial bridge between communities, a driver of economic development, and a catalyst for new opportunities.

He pointed out that the road acts as a vital link for the eastern part of Accra, connecting areas like Tema Communities 7, 18, 19, 23, and 24 with northern regions including Borteyman, Adjiringanor, Adentan, and Dodowa.

By enhancing connectivity between the eastern and western parts of Accra, the project is set to ease traffic congestion, create new economic zones, and support the growth of local businesses and communities.

“Let it be known, the progress we are witnessing now is not the product of chance but the result of deliberate, focused leadership and the collective effort of dedicated professionals.
