Ghana’s progress in various sectors is notable – Akufo-Addo

In his 2024 Founders’ Day address, President Akufo-Addo emphasized the substantial progress in Ghana’s economy, education, and infrastructure since independence.

The president acknowledged the predictable challenges Ghana faced following its independence in 1957 but highlighted the country’s resilience and achievements.

“After the predictable initial turbulent decades of our post-independence check and history, we have witnessed great changes in Ghana. Our economy has grown, our infrastructure has improved, and our society has become more inclusive.

He detailed advancements across various sectors, stating, “We have made impressive strides in governance, education, healthcare and technology, and we continue to build on the foundation laid by those who came before us. The economic growth we have experienced despite challenges is a testament to the resilience and entrepreneurial spirit of the Ghanaian people.”

President Akufo-Addo also highlighted the ongoing recovery from economic difficulties, saying, “Despite the challenging economic conditions, which we are rapidly overcoming, our social services are functioning,

“This progress is a result of hard work, innovation and the policies that have created a conducive environment for economic development.

In conclusion, the president urged Ghanaians to “recognise the importance of maintaining this momentum and continuing to create opportunities for all” as we celebrate this year’s Founders’ Day which is to commemorate the efforts of persons who contributed to Ghana’s freedom and independence.
