Belinda, known in the culinary world as Big Cheezy and CEO of the renowned Chez Amis restaurant, has recently shared the challenges she faced with her first business venture.
In a revealing interview on the Delay Show on July 28, 2024, Belinda recounted her transition from the spa industry to becoming a successful restaurateur.
After completing her education, Belinda trained at Allure Spa in the City, gaining skills in massage and facials.
Despite her training, she realized that the spa industry wasn’t where she felt she belonged.
Following a difficult breakup with an abusive partner, Belinda decided to open her own spa near Dansoman market.
Unfortunately, the spa struggled to attract customers and was predominantly frequented by men requesting inappropriate services, which left her feeling disrespected.
These negative experiences led Belinda to close the spa.
Refusing to be discouraged, she redirected her focus and eventually discovered her true calling in the restaurant business, culminating in the successful establishment of Chez Amis.
