The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced an extension for the submission of nomination forms by presidential candidates.
This decision is aimed at giving aspirants additional time to resolve any issues with their forms before they are finalized for the ballot.
Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Commissioner responsible for Operations at the EC, shared this update at the National Peace Council’s stakeholder forum.
He explained that the extension would allow candidates to address and rectify any problems with their nomination forms, ensuring that these issues do not lead to disqualification.
Mr. Tettey emphasized the EC’s commitment to maintaining transparency throughout the electoral process, from start to finish.
“We are extending the days of nomination so that if there are certain challenges on the nomination forms of a particular candidate, we would be able to resolve that before we put them on the ballot papers,” he stated.
