Bawumia and Napo can’t win the election for NPP fairly – Nyaho Tamakloe claims

A founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has expressed significant doubts about the party’s chances of success in the upcoming December elections.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe questioned the viability of the ticket comprising NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh.

In an exclusive interview with JoySports’ Atsu Tamakloe, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe stated, “That ticket I personally don’t believe can win a genuine election in this country.”

He suggested that the choice of running mate might hinder the ticket’s success.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also implied that Dr. Bawumia did not have a significant role in selecting his running mate, which he believes will affect the ticket’s overall effectiveness.

“And as I predicted earlier, that there is no way Bawumia will have a free hand to pick his running mate? Never. I said it earlier, I have the tape. [I said] his running mate was picked for him. And that’s exactly what happened,” he asserted.

He further questioned the rationale behind not allowing Dr. Bawumia to choose his own running mate, implying that this decision could create a lack of synergy between the two candidates.

“Why should Bawumia not be allowed to pick his own running mate? Whether he will gel with his running mate, that is his palava,” he added.

Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe also criticized recent controversial statements made by Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, commonly known as Napo, regarding Kwame Nkrumah. He suggested that Napo’s remarks have led to significant backlash, which could be challenging for him to overcome.

“Certain mistakes are made and they are difficult to correct. So that mistake made by Napo, look at the reaction as a result of his statement that has sort of degenerated almost everywhere, even outside the country. Nigerians are even talking about it,” he explained.

Additionally, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe issued a warning to the Electoral Commission, cautioning that any attempts to manipulate election results could have severe consequences.

“Any tricks they will play to change the results will lead this country into a serious disaster,” he warned.
