Security expert Richard Kumadoe has suggested that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo‘s recent appointment of Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations may be part of a larger strategy to sideline IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
The appointment, announced by Presidency’s Director of Communications Eugene Arhin, follows advice from the Police Council, which praised COP Yohuno’s extensive career and commitment to duty spanning over three decades.
In response, Kumadoe commented on 3FM’s Hot Hot Edition, stating, “There is a conspiracy theory suggesting that they are preparing to remove the IGP.”
Meanwhile, former Police officer and current lawmaker for Wa West, Peter Toobu, also appearing on the show, expressed support for the appointment, noting the need for experienced leadership to ensure security during the upcoming elections.
