Nana Yaw, an emerging musician from Sowutuom known by his stage name Wyllbee, was tragically lynched at Abuakwa-Tanoso in the Ashanti Region while staying overnight at his girlfriend’s home.
According to a report by EDHUB on X, Wyllbee had travelled from Accra to Kumasi to spend several days with his girlfriend, who, unbeknownst to him, was married to a man living abroad and residing with her in-laws.
The family reported that Wyllbee did not inform any relatives of his journey.
Around 1 a.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024, he went outside to urinate and was confronted by some occupants of the compound house, who mistook him for a thief.
Wyllbee reportedly explained that he was there to visit his girlfriend, but she allegedly denied knowing him to protect her marriage, escalating the situation.
The occupants then alerted neighbours, who joined in the confrontation, leading to a brutal beating.
Early in the morning, after the family was informed, Wyllbee was taken to a local hospital. Unfortunately, he passed away after being transferred to Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) for further medical treatment.
