Legal practitioner Maurice Ampaw has openly shared details about his family life, revealing that he has seven children from multiple relationships. He disclosed having two sets of twins with different women and three additional children with three other women.
Following the passing of his wife in 2021 and his subsequent remarriage in 2022, Ampaw explained that he had relationships outside of his marriage which resulted in the birth of these children.
In an interview on The Delay Show, Ampaw emphasized that his decision to remarry was influenced by the need for his children, especially the twins left behind by his late wife, to have maternal care.
He credited his current wife, Celestina, for stepping into this role admirably, noting that her support and care for his children were significant factors in their marriage.
Ampaw dismissed criticisms of recklessness, asserting that he acted responsibly and with good intentions towards all the women involved.
He also clarified that his relationship with Celestina predated his wife’s passing and was built on a longstanding friendship and mutual support over many years.
Ampaw described their bond and shared experiences in Kumasi, where Celestina resided, which ultimately led to their decision to marry after his wife’s death.
Throughout the interview, Ampaw spoke candidly about his family dynamics and personal choices, highlighting what he viewed as his commitment to his children and the significant role Celestina now plays in their lives.
“When my wife died, I realized my children needed motherly love because the extended family had rejected them. I told Celestina that my children (twins) needed a mother, so if she took care of them well, they would bless her with twins. She took care of them, and now she has twins – two girls. So, I have two sets of twins and others,” he said, prompting an exclamation from show host Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay).
“Oh yes, I have children with different women,” Ampaw proudly stated. “I have children with about three women. I’m versatile and honest with myself. These three others came before Celestina’s twins but after my twins with my late wife. I was having affairs with women when my wife was alive. We had children, and that’s it.”
He rejected the claim that he is being reckless, saying: “I’m not reckless; I’m being responsible. I had good intentions for every woman I had a baby with.”
