New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to hold separate meetings for its National Executive Committee and National Council on Thursday, July 4, 2024, at different scheduled times.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting is scheduled as

The National Council (NC) meeting is scheduled as follows:
Date: Thursday, July 4, 2024 Time: 3:00 p.m.
Venue: Asante Hall, Alisa Hotel.
According to sources within the party, discussions in both meetings primarily focus on the selection of the party’s flagbearer for the upcoming December 7 general election in 2024.
On July 1st, 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia formally notified the National Officers of the NPP at their headquarters in Asylum Down about his choice of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as his running mate.
This announcement followed an earlier presentation of Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s nomination to the majority caucus of Parliament.
The final decision on the nomination now rests with the National Council, the ultimate approving body of the NPP.
