The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Anyaa-Sowutoum, Emmanuel Tobbin, has pledged to ensure that every child in his constituency receives an education if elected as Member of Parliament (MP).
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Tobbin emphasized his belief in education as a crucial tool for bridging socioeconomic disparities, underscoring his commitment to this cause.
“For the youth, I am focusing on education. It is the only thing that brings equality between the poor and the rich, so I will do all that I can to ensure that all children in Anyaa-Sowutoum are well educated. We have already started; this year, I paid for the mock examinations for public school children across the entire constituency,” he stated.
When asked about his motivation for seeking the Anyaa-Sowutoum seat following the NPP parliamentary primaries in January, Tobbin cited his deep Christian faith and aspiration to serve as a catalyst for community development.
“When you are a person of God and you love God, you help people just as God does. Choosing to serve the people is akin to doing the work of God. Personally, I believe that the Christian and Muslim communities should take up the mantle of leadership to make it a better place to live,” he stated.
A former businessman-turned-politician, Tobbin described himself as selfless and committed to advancing development in the constituency. He outlined plans to empower women, particularly mothers, through loans and training to bolster their businesses.
