Ghanaian-American theologian and philanthropist, Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng, clarified that he did not coerce gospel musician Great Ampong into apologizing to Daddy Lumba.

The archbishop explained that for Great Ampong to be ordained as a minister, it was necessary for him to resolve any existing disputes to present himself pure before God.

Archbishop Adonteng shared that he suggested to Great Ampong the importance of apologizing to Daddy Lumba for past conflicts, to which the musician agreed and acted upon promptly.

Speaking with blogger Zionfelix, Adonteng emphasized that the apology was voluntary and not forced.

The archbishop recounted that he became aware of the conflict between Great Ampong and Daddy Lumba and advised that, regardless of who was at fault, it was essential for the younger Ampong to apologize to cleanse his heart and move forward.

He clarified that his role was to counsel, not to compel.

This comes after Great Ampong publicly sought Daddy Lumba’s forgiveness, aiming to mend their relationship.

The apology sparked varied public reactions, with some speculating that Archbishop Adonteng had pressured Great Ampong into the gesture.
