Ghanaian actor Kwaku Manu voiced his dismay regarding the response of gospel musician Yaw Sarpong’s children to the controversies surrounding his illness.
Manu expressed disappointment, expecting Sarpong’s children to display affection and care for their father during this difficult time.
Even if the veteran gospel artiste didn’t meet their expectations in terms of upbringing or material provision, Manu believes the children should have supported him.
During an Instagram live session, Manu criticized Sarpong’s children for remaining silent while their father faced public disgrace, deeming their inaction disappointing.
“Yaw Sarpong’s children have made a big mistake; it means you don’t know the impact of your father in this country. Maybe you expected your father to build mansions for you before giving him the needed respect.
“You are allowing your father to be embarrassed in his sickness. As mature people, you should know how to conduct yourselves in these troubling times. I am very disappointed in the children,” he said in Twi.
Regarding Yaw Sarpong’s wife, the actor said, “For the wife, I will deal with her later. You don’t make such remarks on radio.”
This comes after an interview where Yaw Sarpong’s wife, Adwoa Penamang, revealed to Auntie Naa the mistreatment and neglect she has faced from the family since her husband fell ill.
She shared her distress over her husband’s family preferring Maame Tiwaa’s care for Yaw Sarpong, neglecting her in the process.
Some members of the public criticized the interview as unnecessary and inappropriate.
