Ghanaian gospel singer Joe Mettle has shared his stance on collaborating with secular artists, revealing that he isn’t ready to venture into such partnerships.
During an interview on Hitz FM on June 20, 2024, the ‘Bo Noo Ni’ singer clarified why he turned down a proposed collaboration with rapper Sarkodie.
Mettle explained that he is waiting for spiritual guidance before engaging in any collaborations with secular artists.
He remarked, “Sarkodie and I have talked about it. It’s a door I choose not to open right now. The Holy Spirit has reasons for guiding certain actions, and until I receive that guidance, I feel I can’t proceed.”
He further mentioned that other secular artists, including rapper Manifest, have shown interest in working with him. However, Mettle emphasized his need for spiritual direction before moving forward with any collaborations.
“Manifest has been reaching out frequently. We are close, but I don’t want to rush into it. If I do it once, I might feel compelled to do it for everyone. So, please, no pressure,” he said with a chuckle.
Mettle concluded by saying, “When the time is right and I feel guided, I will consider it.”
