Founder and leader of Glorious Word Power Ministry International, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah, has refuted claims circulating in the public sphere that he prophesied Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s loss in the December 7, 2024, presidential elections.
Addressing a viral video purportedly showing him prophesying about Dr. Bawumia’s electoral defeat in an interview on Okay FM on Thursday, June 13, 2024, Rev. Owusu Bempah asserted that the video was doctored and fake.
The renowned preacher clarified that while he may have insights into the election outcome, he has never publicly declared any prophecy regarding the election’s winner or loser.
He specifically named a blogger named Rashark as the individual responsible for spreading the misleading video. Rev. Owusu Bempah emphasized that he has never made political predictions and denounced the manipulation of his words in the video.
“It is a gentleman called Rashark, a blogger, who has caused this problem. I don’t know why he did that, but the video was cut and paste. It was a doctored video; I didn’t say the things in the video.
“Because everyone would bear me witness that I have never stood somewhere and prophesied about the political party that is going to win the election and the one who would lose,” he said in Twi.
Furthermore, he emphasized his close relationship with Vice President Bawumia, stating that they share mutual respect and regularly meet for the betterment of Ghana.
Rev. Owusu Bempah expressed his unwavering support for Dr. Bawumia’s aspirations to succeed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, affirming his commitment to praying for the vice president’s success.
“The vice president is someone I like very much and he also likes me very much. It is true that I have meetings with him and we meet for good reasons. I meet with him for the good of Ghana. I’m supporting him with prayers and the truth is that I will continue praying for him all the time.”
