Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy clinched the ‘Best Reggae/Dancehall Artiste’ award at the 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), held at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Center.
This win marked his second victory of the night.
The event celebrated talents from the Ghana music scene for their accomplishments in the past year.
The ‘Therapy’ hitmaker triumphed over competitors Ras Kukuu, Epixode, and Samini.
This achievement adds to Stonebwoy’s impressive record, making it his ninth win in this particular category.
His music continues to resonate not only in Ghana but also across Africa and beyond.
The Ghana Music Academy Board, comprising professionals from various music sectors, including recording artists, songwriters, producers, mixers, and engineers, ensures a comprehensive and diverse judging process.
Notable nominees for the prestigious ‘Artiste of the Year’ award included Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy, showcasing the depth of talent in the Ghanaian music industry.
In the Best New Artist category, talents such as Banzy Banero, DSL, King Paluta, Maya Blu, Olive the Boy, and Oseikrom Sikani were recognized for their promising contributions to the music scene.
Last year’s awards saw Black Sherif bagging the Artiste of the Year title alongside three other accolades. Camidoh, King Promise, Sarkodie, and Piesie Esther also secured notable wins across different categories, highlighting the diverse range of talent and genres celebrated at the TGMA.
