A tragic accident occurred on the Accra-Apam Highway on Saturday, May 25, 2024, severely affecting all four occupants of a black Toyota Camry. The driver, Nana Obiri Yeboah, suffered the least injuries, while his front-seat passenger succumbed to his injuries.

The back-seat passengers were renowned Ghanaian highlife musicians K.K. Fosu and Bless, famous for their hit song “Chocho Mu Cho.”

In an interview on UTV’s United Showbiz show that evening, Yeboah described the events leading to the head-on collision with a passenger vehicle.

He recounted how, on their way to a wedding in the Central Region, a white Benz 350’s wrongful overtaking forced all cars heading toward Apam Junction to move onto the road’s shoulders to allow the passenger vehicle to pass before they could return to their lanes.

“Like the other cars, we also moved to the shoulder of the road to allow the errant driver to pass, it turned out that he actually crashed into our car, a situation I became aware of when I regained consciousness,” he told MzGee.

“The three passengers had already been sent to the Apam Hospital when I regained consciousness. I asked and was told where they had been sent. I quickly ensured that our key belongings were secured before heading to the hospital.

“I can confirm that KK and Bless suffered broken legs, KK’s own was less damaging than Bless’, the other passenger, an aide to Bless, apparently died on the spot,” he added.

A video shared online by UTV revealed the mangled bonnet of the saloon car involved in the accident. Photos showed the two musicians in hospital beds, highlighting the severity of their injuries.

Nana Obiri Yeboah confirmed that the three survivors have since been transported back to Accra by ambulance and admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) for further treatment.

Meanwhile, GhanaWeb reports that the driver of the errant Benz has reported to the Apam Police and is assisting with the investigation.
