Russia keeps advancing eastward after exchanging drone strikes with Ukraine

Russia said it stopped about 60 drones and missiles from coming into its land, while Ukraine said it destroyed more than 30 Russian drones. At least four people died in an attack near Kharkiv on Sunday as Russia continued its renewed attack in Ukraine’s northeast.

The Russian military said they destroyed 57 Ukrainian drones in the southern Krasnodar region.

The military said pieces of a drone hit an oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, but it didn’t cause a fire or any damage. Astra news released videos that seemed to show a big blast at the refinery caused by a drone. The videos could not be checked by someone else to make sure they are real.

Ukrainian drones destroyed nine missiles and a drone over Russia-controlled Crimea, and cut off power in the city of Sevastopol.

Three more flying machines were destroyed over the Belgorod area, which is next to Ukraine. According to Gov Vyacheslav Gladkov, a drone fell and caught fire on a church roof, but no one got hurt.

The governor of Kherson, Vladimir Saldo, said that one person died and 16 were hurt when a Ukrainian drone hit a small bus on Sunday morning.

The Ukrainian air force stopped all 37 Russian drones that were flown into the country last night.

In the Kharkiv area, where Moscow recently started a new attack, the local governor. Oleh Syniehubov reported on Sunday morning that one person was killed and 11 were injured from the bombing the day before.

On Sunday, Syniehubov said that a Russian attack on the edge of the regional capital, Kharkiv, killed four people and injured 15.

Russia attacked in the Kharkiv area last week, making things even harder for Ukraine’s small army. They are still waiting for important weapons and ammo from their Western allies. Ukraine’s stretched thin military is trying to stop Russia on a new battlefront by using drones with bombs to destroy their military vehicles.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a visit to China that Russia’s attack in the Kharkiv region is meant to make a safe area, but they don’t want to take over the city.
