The Vice President of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged everyone to register for the electoral roll to participate in the 2024 general elections.
The Electoral Commission (EC) will kickstart the limited voter registration exercise on Tuesday, May 7, in preparation for the December 7 general elections.
Running for 21 days until Monday, May 27, 2024, the exercise targets individuals who have reached the age of 18 since the last registration, aiming to include them in the national voter database.
The EC plans to conduct the exercise at its district offices and in remote electoral areas to ensure accessibility.
In a message on his platform, Dr. Bawumia encourages citizens to register promptly to ensure their voices are heard in December. He emphasizes the importance of active participation in shaping Ghana’s future through the electoral process.
“Permanent centres will be set up at the District offices while mobile teams would be used to register eligible applicants in the difficult to access Electoral Areas. The list of registration centres will be provided to the Political Parties no later than twenty-one (21) days to the Registration exercise,” the EC noted.
In a post on is X platform, Dr Bawumia said “Make your vote count in December. Kindly register now and help better Ghana with bold solutions for our future. It is possible!”
