Today, the Asantehene marks his 74th birthday, a significant occasion as it coincides with the silver jubilee of his enthronement.
As part of the silver jubilee program, a mini durbar will be held for the Asantehene to receive visitors.
He attended a thanksgiving service at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Cathedral in Fante New Town, Kumasi, in the morning. In attendance was Gã Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, among others.
Later in the evening, a birthday dinner, strictly by invitation, will take place at the Manhyia Palace.
The birthday of the 16th Asantehene provides an opportunity for his subjects and the world to wish him well.
The Asante Kingdom has a rich history with global recognition, and under Osei Tutu II’s reign, this legacy has been elevated to even greater heights.
His remarkable works have been widely acknowledged within Ghana and internationally. Otumfuo’s reign embodies the qualities expected of traditional rulers in modern times.
Long live otumfuo, long live Asanteman
