Attorneys representing Sean “Diddy” Combs, the renowned music executive and entrepreneur also known as Puff Daddy or P. Diddy, have filed a motion urging a New York court to dismiss parts of a civil suit accusing him of sexual assault and revenge porn.
The suit, brought by Joi Dickerson-Neal, alleges that Combs intentionally drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991 when she was a college student.
Additionally, it claims that Combs filmed the assault and shared it with others.
Combs’ legal team argued that certain aspects of the suit should be dismissed due to procedural issues, including allegations brought under statutes that did not exist at the time of the alleged misconduct and claims against Combs’ company, Bad Boy Records, which did not exist at the time of the incident.
A spokesperson for Combs has previously dismissed the allegations as “made up and not credible,” attributing them to a “money grab.”
This legal development comes amid six separate civil lawsuits against Combs regarding sexual assault or related allegations, one of which has been settled.
Combs has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
Recent federal searches of Combs’ properties in Los Angeles and Miami, reportedly related to an ongoing sex trafficking investigation, have drawn criticism from his attorney as an excessive use of force.
Representatives for Combs declined to comment further on the latest legal motion.
