Broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere has addressed the public for the first time following the circulation of an intimate video featuring her and Henry Fitz.
The video, which has been circulating on social media, shows the media personality and Fitz in a compromising position.
Speculations suggest the video dates back to 2019, before Fitz’s marriage.
However, there are claims that Serwaa attended Fitz’s wedding as a guest and later engaged in a relationship with him.
This revelation has sparked widespread criticism and condemnation, especially considering Serwaa’s prominent societal status.
In a statement posted on her social media account on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Serwaa apologised for the distress caused to her family, employers, loved ones, and the brands she represents.
Confirming that the video was recorded five years ago, Serwaa acknowledged her underestimation of her influence and the impact of her actions on society.
She revealed that the video was leaked after months of threats and extortion, despite efforts by the authorities to address the issue.
“I have learned valuable lessons from this experience,” Serwaa remarked, expressing her readiness to move forward with newfound awareness.
“At the time 5 years ago, I honestly underestimated my influence, my potentials and what I would become and what I would come to represent to this society.”
