Former President John Dramani Mahama recently met with teacher unions to grasp their demands should he return to political office.
Setting the record straight, Mahama clarified that rumors of him seeking a “honeymoon” were false.
He stressed that it’s the economy, not his personal tenure, that needs a period of recovery and stability.
Mahama affirmed that he isn’t making promises but plans to create a platform, if elected, to hear out the grievances of the teacher unions.
“I am not in a position to make promises. I intend to establish a forum if elected to listen to your concerns. I want to clarify that reports of me seeking a honeymoon were misconstrued; I meant the economy needed a honeymoon,” stated Former President John Dramani Mahama.
Mahama sought to refute claims linking him to assertions that he needed a honeymoon, as reported in several media outlets.

You don’t consider teachers to be professionals like Doctors, Lawyers and the like. You engage them for three years and pay them three months with no arrears. Now that they are licensed like any other professionals can you repeat same to them? This is your worry to cancel the teacher licencing!
