Former GFA president and candidate of the Ejisu NPP primaries, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has broken his silence after being discharged from Asokore Mampong Hospital, where he received treatment since Friday night.

It was earlier reported that Nyantakyi fell ill for failing to eat anything on Friday due to campaign activities he was involved in.

Addressing NPP Ejisu voters at the voting center on Saturday, Nyantakyi, in a video on social media, noted that he began to feel dizzy and had to be rushed to the hospital.

He further recounted that “at the hospital, they placed drips on me”.

“I thank God I am still alive,” a sobbing Nyantakyi said.

He arrived at the voting centre to cast his ballot in a race featuring nine aspirants.

As polling began, Nyantakyi was still in the hospital under observation. Upon arrival, Nyantakyi appeared weak and was assisted by a member of his team to walk.

Nine aspirants are competing to be elected as parliamentary candidates of the NPP for the upcoming by-election in Ejisu, following the death of the MP, John Kumah, in March after a brief illness.

  1. Kwasia, you see nothing yet. You think this your fraudulent GFA elections. This is a different terrain altogether. You ought to have thought twice before venturing into partisan politics. With the baggage on your head it makes it easier for your opponents to floor you.
