Man beaten to a pulp for reportedly stealing man’s genitals at Senya Bereku

In Senya Bereku, Central Region, a man in his late 30s was brutally beaten by a group of motorcycle riders over an allegation of causing the disappearance of a colleague rider’s penis.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 10, around 22:00hrs at Zion C Basic School. Approximately 30 individuals armed with welding metals, stones, and sticks stormed the victim’s residence, identified as Mr. Isaac Saint.

They claimed that a ‘pragya‘ driver informed them that his penis vanished after he picked up the victim.

Eyewitnesses reported that the pragya driver alleged his penis disappeared shortly after dropping off the victim at home. Despite pleas for mercy, the victim was mercilessly beaten with metals, sticks, and stones, resulting in severe injuries and blood oozing from his nostrils, head, and other parts of his body.

The Senya Bereku police intervened and escorted the victim to Senya Polyclinic for a medical examination, which revealed that his penis was intact. The victim disclosed that he had visited a spiritual healer at Jehovah El Shaddhai 7th Day Sabbath Assembly, who prayed for him.

Following the examination, the police arrested the complainant and the spiritual healer, both of whom are in police custody. The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital.

At the church, some members claimed that the complainant had arrived with a shrunken penis and that the pastor’s prayers had restored it, asserting the innocence of the pastor.

Dr. Samuel Agyapong, Acting Medical Superintendent at Senya Polyclinic, emphasized the importance of verifying allegations through medical examination before resorting to violence.

He cautioned against blindly brutalizing individuals based on unverified claims.
