Arsenal’s Jorginho likely to make Serie A return

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho is reportedly considering a return to Serie A this summer.

The Brazilian-born player enjoyed a successful spell at Napoli, winning two trophies in five seasons, before joining Chelsea in 2018.

Now, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, the Euro 2020 winner is being linked with a move to Napoli, Lazio, and Juventus, according to reports from the Evening Standard.

Jorginho, 32, has a history of working with Maurizio Sarri, who is currently the manager of Lazio, having previously coached him at both Napoli and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Juventus, one of Italy’s traditional powerhouses, are in a rebuilding phase under Max Allegri, currently sitting second in the Serie A table behind Inter Milan.

Agent Joao Santos recently told Italian media: “He’d suit Lazio more, for the presence of coach [Maurizio] Sarri who already knows his characteristics very well.

“But also Juve, who have a great director of sport like Cristiano Giuntoli, who he spent many years with at Napoli.”

Jorginho has made a total of 25 appearances for Arsenal this season. However, the Hellas Verona academy graduate has started only six of their 26 Premier League games.
