Twifo Eduabeng: 43-year-old man tried for fondling girl’s private part

A 43-year-old driver is being tried for sexually assaulting a female minor at Twifo Eduabeng in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region.

George Antwi, the suspect, is said to have accessed the 12-year-old’s private part and fondled it.

The suspect, also known to be a herbal medicine practitioner was arraigned at the Twifo Praso District Court.

The prosecution, Chief Inspector Joseph Kusah informed the court that the suspect took advantage of the healthcare service he provides to the minor and lured her into his bedroom, where he asked her to undress.

He is said to have turned off the lights and began touching the minor in an unpleasant way. Per the prosecution, George was caught by the victim’s sisters, but he threatened to take their lives should they disclose what they had seen to anyone.

The sisters nonetheless informed their parents, and a formal complaint was later lodged at the police station.

Antwi was arrested and charged with two counts, indecent assault and threats of harm. The court, presided over by Maxwell Foli Kpodo has granted him bail in the sum of Gh¢5,000.00 with two sureties after the accused pleaded not guilty.

The court further ordered the suspect not to travel out of the jurisdiction until the conclusion of the case.
