The police have taken five people into custody after finding several dead bodies with gunshot wounds in a faraway part of southern California’s Mojave Desert.

Six dead bodies were discovered after someone who had been shot called 911 for help. The police helicopter was sent to the scene of the crime.

Investigators from the San Bernardino Sherriff’s Office said on Monday that the argument seems to be about illegally making marijuana.

Police have found out who four of the six victims are.

All the bodies, which were all men, were found on January 23rd near a road close to the town of El Mirage in San Bernardino County. Police said all six people were killed by gunshots.

Sgt Michael Warrick told reporters on Monday that four of the victims had suffered serious burns.

The investigation started when 911 got a call from a person who said they were shot.

A police helicopter went up and found the victims, as well as a car and van with bullet holes around 8:15 pm local time (4:15 am GMT), about 90 miles northeast of Los Angeles.

Four men were close together, and another man was in a car. The police found the last dead person not far from there.

The video from the sky showed the SUV full of bullet holes, broken windows, and signs of a fire.

“Sgt Warrick said we think the reason for this seems to be a fight about marijuana. ”

The police said in a statement that the victims had planned to meet at the place to buy marijuana.

Five men were arrested for shooting six people at a location. The reasons for the shooting are still being investigated.

Investigators took eight guns and are checking to see if they were used in the killings.

Officials didn’t want to say if the killings were connected to cartels or gangs. They just said it was organized crime.

In California, adults have been allowed to buy and use cannabis since 2016, but there is still a problem with people selling untaxed marijuana illegally.
