Renowned Ghanaian reggae artiste, Samini, has taken a firm stance against online insults after a Twitter user targeted him for his opinions on Ghana’s Black Stars’ recent AFCON match against Mozambique.
The incident unfolded when Samini shared his views on the match, prompting a user with the handle @kb_gram to insult and refer to him as a “foolish northerner” who thinks he knows everything.
The ‘Linda’ hitmaker, expressing displeasure over the personal attack and tribal slurs, emphasized that opinions on football should not result in such derogatory comments.
Samini cautioned the Twitter user not to hide behind the anonymity of social media, promising to seek him out in person.
In response to the insult, Samini declared, “What do you mean by ‘foolish northerner please’? Don’t let me look for you to say this to me in my face, young lad. Don’t let this app make you feel untouchable, my guy. You want to pull the tribal card? Opinions are free. I won’t block you. I’ll find you. I promise,” in a message posted on Tuesday, January 23rd.
