It is our wish that you, NAPO be sworn in on Jan 7 2025 – Council of Zongo Chiefs to Bawumia

The Council of Zongo Chiefs of Ghana is fervently praying for the inauguration of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President and Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as Vice President on January 7, 2025.

During a Special Quran Recitation & Prayers for the victory of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 general elections, held on January 19, 2024, at Kantudu behind the Kumasi Central Mosque, the Zongo chiefs also invoked blessings for Dr. Bawumia to select the Energy Minister and MP for Manhyia South as his running mate for the upcoming elections.

The chiefs believe that Dr. Prempeh is the ideal partner to work with Dr. Bawumia in advancing Ghana to the next level from 2025. Chief of Frafra and President of the Council of Zongo Chiefs, Alhaji Musah, conveyed their aspirations, stating that they were praying for the duo as they possess the spiritual qualities needed to lead Ghana.

“It is our wish that Dr. Bawumia will be sworn-in as President come 7th January, 2025 with Dr. NAPO as his Vice President. I know that our toil tonight in this recitation will not be in vain” Alhaji Musah said.

He continued “We pray that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s best choice for the running mate will be our own brother, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh. May Allah not let our toil be in vain”.

The Zongo chiefs remain optimistic and have faith that, through their prayers, God will guide Dr. Bawumia to choose Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his running mate, aligning with Allah’s will for the progress of Ghana.
