Inter Milan begin talks for Martinez’s contract renewal

Inter Milan is set to initiate talks with their star striker, Lautaro Martinez, regarding a contract extension.

Martinez, aged 26, currently leads Serie A in scoring with 11 goals in 10 matches this season.

His agent, Alejandro Camano, has confirmed that he will engage in discussions with Inter’s management in the upcoming days to negotiate a new contract for his client, as his existing deal is set to expire in June 2026.

“We have a great relationship with the Nerazzurri,” Camano said. “And we are discussing getting together to talk about Martinez’s renewal. Inter wants to renew Lautaro’s contract. And we want to extend it. We’ll see each other in the next few days.

“We’re talking about a very important player for Inter. And of a very important club for Lautaro. It’s not just money that matters. There are various factors.

“For Lautaro, it’s not just about money; it’s about a feeling for the club, a city that loves him and that he loves.”

A 2022 World Cup winner with Argentina, Martinez helped Inter win the Coppa Italia last season and reach the Champions League final, though they lost 1-0 to Manchester City.
