Big blow for Paul Pogba as Juve set to pay player €2k a month after failed drugs test

Paul Pogba has received official communication from Juventus regarding a reduction in his salary to a mere €2,000 per month following a failed drug test.

The French international midfielder’s B sample, provided after a Serie A match against Udinese on August 20, has also returned positive.

Pogba, a World Cup winner, was already serving a suspension at Juventus due to initially elevated levels of testosterone.

This suspension has now been extended indefinitely, and Pogba faces the possibility of a lengthy ban and potential contract termination if he is found guilty of doping violations during a sports trial.

While Juventus has not taken such drastic measures at this point, they have sent a letter to Pogba notifying him of the salary reduction.

Reportedly, Pogba is seeking a reduced ban, as it has been revealed that the substance he tested positive for is not testosterone itself but rather DHEA, a hormone that boosts testosterone.
