A top Russian commander has said that the conflict in Ukraine is a way for Russia to gain influence in other countries in Eastern Europe.

General Andrey Mordvichev suggested that Vladimir Putin is likely to expand the battle lines in the future. This has caused concern in Poland, Moldova, and Georgia, who have always been worried about this kind of escalation.

In an interview at the end of July, he said that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is just the start of their plans to take over other countries using their military power.

Mordvichev, who was given a higher position to command the military in Central Military District and Russian Central Grouping of Forces in Ukraine, was asked how much longer the fighting will continue.

The top Russian military leader believes that the conflict in Ukraine is only the beginning of their plans to take control of other parts of Eastern Europe.
There is still a lot of time available. He said that there is no use in talking about a certain time period.

‘When we discuss Eastern Europe, which we must, it will take more time. ‘

According to a report from the Institute for the Study of War, Putin has praised Mordvichev in the past and may like him more than other military commanders.

It was said that the president probably gave him a promotion as a reward for being loyal and obedient, rather than for his performance in battle.
Mordvichev was incorrect when he said that Ukraine’s counterattack will be finished by the end of August.

Although progress has been slower than expected, Ukraine has made improvements in important areas that were previously occupied.

Predicting the future, Mordvichev said: ‘Ukraine won’t achieve a lot during the winter. ‘ I believe everything will be finished by spring.

They are being mean to us, and we will have to do something about it soon. We need to free our lands. We need to do it and we have to do it.

His comments came up again when security experts cautioned that Putin will be refilling his military weapons as a result of an agreement with North Korea.

Kim Jong-un and his counterpart had a meeting on Wednesday. The supreme leader promised to support Russia’s fight.

Ivan Stupak, who used to work for Ukraine’s Security Service, said to Metro that Russia wants old weapons from the Soviet era to start their own attack in the east.

The list includes different types of weapons and ammunition. It has projectiles for a self-propelled rocket launcher called BM-21 Grad, shells for artillery and tanks, rounds for assault guns, and mortar mines.
