Serwaa Amihere expresses concern for Ghanaian musicians amid controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death

Ghanaian media personality Serwaa Amihere has expressed her thoughts on the tragic passing of the renowned Nigerian musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.

The 27-year-old singer’s death has triggered a wave of anger and confusion on social media, with reports suggesting that he died under unusual circumstances.

Social media has also witnessed an outpouring of condolences from numerous fans, well-wishers, and celebrities in Nigeria and beyond.

While the cause of Mohbad’s death remains unknown, he was reportedly embroiled in a bitter dispute with his former record label since his departure in 2022.

Posts from Mohbad’s colleagues alleging that he faced numerous attacks and death threats have also gone viral, fueling speculations that his former record label might have played a role in his demise.

Furthermore, several videos featuring Mohbad seeking help and warning the public about the severity of the death threats from his former record label have fueled ongoing discussions.

In light of these events unfolding on social media, Serwaa Amihere has posed a question to Ghanaian artists affiliated with record labels. She inquired whether such artists might be silently enduring challenges akin to those faced by Mohbad.

“I hope Ghanaian musicians aren’t going through the alleged ordeal of Mohbad in Nigeria by some of the label heads here,” she wrote on Twitter.
