Cristiano Ronaldo responds to Lionel Messi’s Ballon d’Or nomination

Cristiano Ronaldo says his competition with Lionel Messi is no longer there after he was not chosen for the 2023 Ballon d’Or award.

This year, 30 stars have been nominated for a special award given to the best player in world football.

Messi and Ronaldo have been competing for the Ballon d’Or award for more than ten years now. Messi has won the trophy seven times, which is a record.

Ronaldo won five Ballon d’Or awards, but even though he currently plays for Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, he was not chosen as one of the 30 nominees for the 2023 award.

But Ronaldo says that his longtime competition with Messi, especially when they played for Real Madrid and Barcelona, is now over.
