At Parc des Princes, PSG has seemingly removed posters of Kylian Mbappe, and his jerseys are no longer available for purchase in club shops across Paris.

The French footballer has been the subject of departure speculation from the Ligue 1 champions this summer due to his refusal to extend his contract, which is scheduled to expire in 2024.

In lieu of allowing him to depart on a free transfer, the Paris Saint-Germain management is aiming to secure a transfer fee for him. In addition to this, they have prevented him from participating in first-team training, and he was notably absent from the squad for the club’s pre-season tour.

In a further indication of their stance, PSG has heightened the pressure on Mbappe by seemingly taking down banners featuring him that adorned their home stadium.

Furthermore, his name appears to be absent from the selection of kits available for purchase in club shops across Paris, as reported by GFFN via Gol.

The 24-year-old, who is presently obligated to train alongside PSG’s ‘bomb squad’ composed of undesirable players, finds himself locked in a standoff with the club. Reports indicate that the World Cup champion has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for a contract commencing in 2024.

However, PSG aims to secure a substantial fee for the player, valuing him at €250 million (£215 million or $274 million).

The question of whether Mbappe, who previously labelled PSG as a “divisive” club, will play for them in the upcoming season remains uncertain, as the campaign is set to commence this weekend.

PSG is slated to kick off their season at home against Lorient on Saturday, August 12. The role Mbappe will assume in the team is yet to be determined.
