Public Policy Analyst, Professor Enoch Opoku Antwi has voiced his skepticism about claims suggesting that the large amount of Dollars found at the residence of former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, was a donation from funerals.Prof. Antwi emphasized that such an assertion does not hold up logically and credits Ghanaians with intelligence to see through such explanations. He made these remarks when speaking to the media on Wednesday, July 26.“So anybody saying that, I don’t know what he thinks about Ghanaians. That is a big insult.”The professor expressed concern about the situation, questioning the morality of hoarding such wealth when there is widespread poverty in the country.Rather than condemning the act, some people were attempting to rationalize it as a charitable gesture, which Prof. Antwi vehemently disagreed with. He argued that no amount of funeral ceremonies could generate such a vast sum of money.“Whether private or public you cannot keep it at home,” he said on the Key Points on TV3 Saturday, July 22.Prof. Antwi in previous interviews highlighted that whether in a private or public capacity, keeping such an exorbitant amount of money at home is imprudent. He expressed fears for the safety of the family members living in the same household, as holding such wealth could put them at risk.He stressed that legitimate funds should not be kept in such a manner and called for investigations into the source of the money.Following the public outcry and discussions surrounding the money found at her residence, Cecilia Abena Dapaah tendered her resignation on Saturday, July 22.“It is with considerable regret that I accept your resignation, and I applaud your loyalty to the image and standing of the government,” he wrote on Saturday.“The work you undertook during your period in Government was excellent and productive, and I thank you for your wholehearted contribution and devotion to the progress of the Government and the nation.”President Akufo-Addo accepted her resignation, acknowledging her past contributions to the government as “excellent and productive.” Madam Abena Dapaah assured her cooperation with state agencies in the investigation process to address the matter. On Monday, July 25, she was arrested by the Office of the Special Prosecutor in connection with the money discovered at her house.President Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in her integrity while in office and believed that she would be fully exonerated after the investigations conclude.Public Policy Analyst, Professor Enoch Opoku Antwi has voiced his skepticism about claims suggesting that the large amount of Dollars found at the residence of former Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, was a donation from funerals.Prof. Antwi emphasized that such an assertion does not hold up logically and credits Ghanaians with intelligence to see through such explanations. He made these remarks when speaking to the media on Wednesday, July 26.“So anybody saying that, I don’t know what he thinks about Ghanaians.
