World Vision Ghana appoints first female national director

The staff at the World Vision Head Office in Accra has warmly welcomed Laura Del Valle as its new national director.

She becomes the first female to hold this position in World Vision Ghana’s history.

In her acceptance speech, Laura expressed her enthusiasm for becoming a part of the Orange family.

She shared that during her visit last year, she was deeply impressed by the ministry’s dedication and services to children, which deeply touched her heart and drew her attention.

Her primary goal is to work together with the team to serve the children, families, and communities in Ghana, empowering them to strive for a brighter future.

“That is our promise to the children of Ghana, that we will do what is supposed to be done, especially to help the most vulnerable children have a better future,’’ she said.

Laura urged the staff of World Vision Ghana to wholeheartedly embrace the organization’s vision and mission. Reflecting on her first week, she expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and shared her inspiration by witnessing the dedication and professionalism of the Ghanaian team.

With an impressive background, Laura Del Valle brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. Over her 30-year career, both within and outside World Vision, she has held significant positions, including serving as the National Director of World Vision El Salvador since 2013. Throughout her journey, she has demonstrated adaptive and thoughtful leadership at various organizations.

Passionate about child protection and the well-being of children, Laura’s aim is to inspire others to serve with love and passion, striving for high-quality results.

She strongly believes that children should be given opportunities for transformational experiences, leading to a world free of violence and filled with the compassion of Jesus.

Laura actively speaks on these matters at church and external events, sharing her expertise and insights.

Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from El Salvador University, a Master’s degree in art from Eastern University, and a doctoral degree in leadership from Gull University. Her specialization in NGO management from the TEC of Monterrey, Mexico, and certification as an ontological coach for business from the International Federation of Professional Ontological Coaches further complement her expertise. She is also a valuable member of several boards and communities focused on child development and education.

World Vision Ghana eagerly looks forward to collaborating with Laura as she leads the office into the next phase. As a Christian relief, development, and advocacy organization, World Vision Ghana has been devoted to empowering children, families, and communities to address the underlying causes of poverty and injustice for over four decades. Their impactful work spans across 14 regions out of 16 in Ghana.
