Man arrested for cutting off hand of student over GHS5

One Salinko, 45, is behind bars for amputating the hand of a final-year student of Hemang Technical Institute for allegedly stealing his money.

21-year-old Kweku Nkrumah is accused of stealing GHS5 which belongs to Salinko.

The two were in a taxi from Jankobo to Wawase on Friday. After the trip, Salinko is said to have realised he had lost his money.

Two days after, proceeded to the premises of Kweku at Jukwa Wawase in the Hemang-Lower Denkyira District and confronted him.

He later attacked Kweku, who had denied the claims, with a cutlass he had in his possession.

Kweku was rushed to the Twifo Praso Government Hospital for examination and is responding to treatment.
