2022/23 Ghana Premier League matchday 9: Berekum Chelsea v Asante Kotoko preview

The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season will resume on today, Monday, December 19, after a one-month break.

When the season picks back up the following week, the league will enter matchday 9 and clubs will continue to compete for points in an effort to push over their season-long goals.

For the matchday, there will be matches played on Monday through to Wednesday, December 21.

On Wednesday, Asante Kotoko will go up against Berekum Chelsea in a tough encounter.

Defending champions Asante Kotoko are aiming to make it back-to-back Ghana Premier League wins for the first team in a long time.

Although the Reds had a tough run before the Ghana Premier League went on break, they still managed to hold onto third on the league table.

During the world cup period, the Porcupine Warriors played a number of friendly matches and have improved especially with their attacking play.

For the opponent, Berekum Chelsea have looked good in training this week and looking forward to the resumption of the league next week.

Chelsea only have 12 points this season and are currently 9th on the league table. Looking forward to the game against Asante Kotoko, the Blues are pumped up and want to upset the defending champions.

 

Predicted scoreline:

Asante Kotoko will ride on the back of the home advantage and should be able to cruise past Berekum Chelsea with a win.
